Patricia Harris has been Principal Harpist with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra for more than 40 years. She began her studies at the age of eight with her mother Anne Adams, principal harpist with the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Opera. Mrs. Harris continued her studies at the University of Arizona and eventually earned her bachelors, masters and music education degrees. She has performed with groups all over Arizona and the U.S. including the Mendocino Music Festival Orchestra, the Flagstaff Festival Orchestra, the Arizona Opera Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and the Phoenix Symphony. Patricia enjoys teaching and she has students ranging in age from eight to over eighty year old. She has made several recordings including her acclaimed Two Harps as One, featuring Patricia and her mother. Her new duo with fellow harpist Christine Vivona is called “Two Harps, Ninety Four Strings.”
Mrs. Harris is married and the mother of two sons.
